imagine when jim comes back and bones just holds his hand too tight to be comfortable and whispers brokenly, “oh god. jim. you’re alive, thank god,” and jim’s still feeling woozy and sticky and tired but he smiles at bones and squeezes his hand back and says “i couldn’t just leave you looking all pathetic” and bones does a little laugh-sob thing ©
